JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a Procurement Assistant Manager who will be mainly responsible for (but not limited to) procurement and contract management of the Contract Logistics in Vietnam.
This position requires someone who has solid experience in Contract Logistics procurement as well as in warehouse & transportation operations. This, combined with awareness of cost drivers, sourcing processes and contract management, will be highly valued. Prior experience within Warehouse Operations & Transportation will be a plus. The individual we are looking for must have good communication & interpersonal skills through which he or she will engage a broad range of colleagues and stakeholders locally and regionally. The person will be responsible for supporting key procurement projects forward and will be an integral part of the team and its ability to deliver on our ambitious goals in Maersk.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement the procurement activities for the contract logistics team (60%) and the transportation team (40%) in Vietnam.
- Lead and execute sourcing projects for, but not limited to, transportation & customs brokerage, 3rd parties of Labor, MHE, PPE and other requirements for Warehouse/Distribution activities.
- Perform local industry market analysis and market intelligence
- Solid business acumen across all products/categories, find saving opportunities, drive to put into practice, to achieve and exceed saving targets
- Support preparation and execution of major bids and ensure alignment with relevant internal stakeholders
- Establish contact with key suppliers to acquire information on service offerings, understand their market approach and enable a better and closer working relationship.
- Maintain supplier base & supplier relationship, engage stakeholders with a focus on ensuring business continuity which is linked to market supply and customers’ demand
- Be a team member for the implementation of local projects. Coordinate among suppliers and internal stakeholders in the project approval process, SOP creation, KPI set-up and contract sign-off
- Get internal forecast volume demand in balance with supplier capacity, in line with target service quality
- Work with related teams for continuous cost improvement
- Handle contract drafting, evaluation, negotiation, coordinate for execution, review, and audits
- Ensure contract documents are accurate, well-maintained in structure and timely reviewed and all required licenses/certificates are timely renewed
- Support the optimum use of procurement tools and systems
- Support Compliance, Safety and ESG initiatives
- Support SRM / QBR programme for selected suppliers
- Organize events related to suppliers
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Have a bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, or related fields
- Have around 3-5 years in the procurement of contract logistics services, warehousing services/equipment, transportation services and Customs Brokerage services.
- Have strong experience in working and managing vendors/suppliers
- Have good English communication skills.
- Exemplifying a strong attention to detail, good data management, analytical & structural thinking skills
- Good project planning & implementing skills
- Self-starter, proactive manner & can-do mindset
