Job Descriptions:
This role will support from researching issues, covering events, and writing articles, to producing engaging social media content. This is the perfect opportunity to build your portfolio and experience the dynamics of a media company while staying connected to Yogyakarta’s local stories.
Responsibilities:
1. Monitor trending topics and local issues relevant to Yogyakarta and its audience.
2. Write news articles, explainers, and light features (soft news, pop culture, lifestyle).
3. Cover events and conduct on-the-ground reporting, including short interviews.
4. Act as host/talent for social media content (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts).
5. Research, script, and produce short-form videos (explainer, vox pop, event coverage).
6. Capture video footage and perform basic editing using mobile tools (CapCut, VN, etc.).
7. Engage with audiences by creating content that is accurate, relevant, and relatable for young generation
Requirements:
1. Final-year student or fresh graduate in Journalism, Communication, Literature, International Relations, or related fields.
2. Strong passion for journalism, storytelling, and digital media.
3. Confident in writing (good grammar, engaging style, PUEBI for Indonesian).
4. Comfortable being on camera with good storytelling skills.
5. Familiar with TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube — and understand short-video trends.
6. Basic skills in shooting and editing videos using smartphones.
7. Curious, proactive, and able to work under tight deadlines.
8. Portfolio of writing and/or short video content (TikTok/Reels/YouTube) is a plus.
