An AI Lab is advancing frontier research in large language models, agentic systems, and machine reasoning. Anchored by a multi-year public-sector collaboration, the team combines cross-disciplinary PhD talent with an engineering-first culture to turn low-TRL ideas into robust prototypes that inform production systems. They values rigorous experimentation, documentation and close collaboration with product and platform engineers to deliver research with real-world impact.
Client introduction
Job responsibilities
- Lead and execute scientific experiments across LLM core components (retrieval/RAG, entity-relation extraction, prompting/programming, reasoning, safety).
- Curate data with engineers (collection, preprocessing, QA/augmentation) and build training/evaluation pipelines.
- Analyze results rigorously; document methods, architectures, and best practices; present findings to stakeholders.
- Contribute code reviews and architecture discussions; help mature low-TRL research into robust prototypes.
- Stay current with advances in NLP/GenAI; optional but valued: publications in reputable venues.
- (Senior track) Mentor teammates or cross-team collaborators.
Job requirements
- PhD in Computer Science/Engineering/Statistics (or related). Strong Master’s profiles with research output will be considered.
- 2–4+ years in AI/ML/NLP research (open to early-career researchers with publications).
- Depth in one or more: LLM modeling, information retrieval/RAG, entity-relation extraction, prompt engineering/agentic frameworks, reasoning, or LLM vulnerabilities/safety.
- Proficiency with PyTorch/TensorFlow; strong experimental design, analysis, and communication.
- Comfortable collaborating with engineering to move research toward productization.
Why you should join them
- Research focus with real-world impact: publish-friendly culture while shipping prototypes that matter.
- Serious peers: join a cross-disciplinary PhD team, with mentorship and breadth across EEE, CS, bio/biotech, materials, and more.
- Frontier problems: agentic workflows, reasoning, retrieval quality, robustness/safety.
- Structured runway: 3-year collaboration provides stability to pursue ambitious ideas.
