Success in this role means not only delivering robust processes but also fostering a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and operational excellence throughout the organisation.
- Conduct comprehensive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews for new products and tooling to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness from the earliest stages of development.
- Lead cross-functional teams through the creation of detailed Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA), identifying potential risks and implementing preventative measures.
- Develop Value Stream Maps aligned with anticipated manufacturing strategies to optimise workflow and eliminate inefficiencies throughout the production cycle.
- Identify Key Process Indicators (KPI) and establish rigorous Control Plans to monitor performance, drive improvements, and maintain high standards of quality.
- Review initial output data meticulously to assess process capability, efficiency, and areas for enhancement within existing systems.
- Perform complex engineering calculations using principles of physics and mathematics to inform conceptual, schematic, and detailed design decisions for processes or equipment.
- Execute all phases of DMAIC philosophy as well as Six Sigma methodologies, including design of experiments and advanced problem-solving tools.
- Provide expert technical input during incident investigations by considering manpower, methods, machines, materials, and measurement factors; document problems thoroughly with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
